You will use this information to create a safety pamphlet that you will share with friends and family, and even the younger children in school. You will learn much more about SAFETY and why it is important, how to avoid unsafe situations, when you should ask a grown up for help, and several safety tips.
You were able to see how the narrator’s friends and family played a huge role in handling the loss of his best friend Jamie. For this assignment, you will pretend that you are the narrator in the story who has just lost his best friend. When we read the book, “A Taste of Blackberries” by Doris Buchanan Smith, you learned that the narrator’s best friend Jamie was deathly allergic to bees and needed special attention when he was stung. Since the narrator thought he was faking just to be funny, he did not tell an adult and Jamie passed away.
